Off the shelves products contain only 2 percent of concentration, so it would not do harm to your face.

Lightening creams take about 1 month after starting treatment to show visible results in your face. Some products are more irritating than others, so you can try a few brands to find 1 that best suits your acne skin. It is recommended to use the cream on the entire face instead of only a particular spot in order to avoid a ring of lighter skin against a darker skin color.

So you can try this method of using lightening cream to deal with visible acne scar. You do not need to worry about chemical substances being bad for skin as long as you use moderate amount of cream.
